I love Quicksilver, I really do. I use it mainly for launching an application without finding it. It goes like this, you press Ctrl+Space and it shows you a window where you type the name of the application that you want to launch and the app would search it for you. You don’t have to give it a full name, you can give it’s first 3 letter or even it’s acronym! It’s lovely and it makes things easy.

But when I’m using another OS (yes.. sometimes I do use another OS) I tends to get lazy because I need to look for the application that I want to launch (and yes, clicking the start menu and manually look for the application is a tiring thing to do..). So I search for a Quicksilver replacement. So I found Launchy, it has a decent interface that’s skin-able and quite similar to quicksilver in use.

So for those of you wanting to have a bit of Quicksilver in your Winblows OS, then you might want to check it out. I’m very sure you’d be very lazy to use the Start menu after using this one.
